Four Kilometres of Coastline

One of Gavà´s biggest tourist attractions is its four kilometres of coastline, with a unique pine forest, covering some 400 metres, which stretches right up to the sea. This, together with the quality services and excellent climate, (over 3,500 hours of sun a year) attracts 2 million visitors to the beaches every year.
Furthermore, the rich sub-soil is ideal for the 400 hectares of agricultural land, while the lagoon provides a nesting ground and stopover point for thousands of migratory birds.

What makes the Gavà coastline different from other parts of the coast is its unique geography. Walking along the sea front is an excellent way to enjoy the carefully conserved unique dune system and pine forest that reaches down to the sea. The sea front, which won the prestigious FAD exterior architecture award in 1995, is 2 kilometres long and provides access to a variety of municipal leisure areas.

The Gavà maritime area provides visitors with a wide range of services and facilities: restaurants, swimming pools, childrel's play areas, showers and, in the summer, beachfront bars.
There are also numerous parks and the Avinguda del Mar, running right down to the sea front, where it boasts an Antoni Roselló sculpture, a landmark of the Gavà coast.
